It's not just about colorIt’s not only about color. Although the tulips were planted randomly in their batwing-shaped waves, they are amazingly evenly spaced. But the height variations make the scene. Cushioned in newly emerging perennials and smaller specialty bulbs, the tulips are staggered at different levels. And that’s what gives the border its natural flavor of the moment.

The tulips seem to float like butterflies, especially when open. The whites capture the sunbeams, the brighter colors add intrigue, while the darker shades blend with the perennials. And like pollinators, they’re all soaring at a variety of altitudes. The colors and the choreography are what give us the signal that this confection is newsworthy.
