Good Things to Come

Lovely Composition Right now, we’re in a lull between the two waves of Gladiolus callianthus (formerly acidanthera) planted in succession to provide two spurts of blossoms. Their gently arching flower spikes (these are the swans of the glad group) have a majesty and promise that warrants the double dipping succession method.

And along the edge of the Seasonal Walk – as part of the ribbon that hems both sides – the oxalis are holding firm to form a foil of shamrock-like foliage while the colchicums are just beginning to send up their flower blossoms and swell. In a border that just keeps getting better, temptations are still enticing visitors to return for many good things to come.
